This one is a rip-off, or as we prefer, an "homage" to a cartoon from Rip Thrillby's own
1960 edition of Esquire's What Every Young Man Should Know, a manual for aspiring
young men-about-town. With glorious, unapologetic zeal, the editors devote entire
sections to the acquisition of such vital skills as making the perfect martini,
building the proper wardrobe, spotting a neurotic girl, and how to heel-toe power
shift on an S-turn. Perhaps the absence of this book from today's book sellers'
shelves explains the overbearing blandness of modern pop culture.
Oh yeah -- the show was a gas, too.
